Cape Town - Orlando Pirates interim coach Rulani Mokwena has leapt to the defence of new goalkeeper Joris Delle.
The French-born Delle was signed by the Soweto giants before the start of the of the season on a free transfer with much fanfare with the shot-stopper having played for Nice and Metz in his homeland and then Feyenoord in Holland last season.
Delle has not had the best of starts to his Pirates career though having conceded eight goals in his first three games but Mokwena is adamant that the entire team must take the blame.
Mokwena said: "Football is not about an individual, if you concede goals it's about your organisation as well.
"He is doing his best, adapting to the game in South Africa.
"We've got to do better also as a technical team to prepare him and make sure he adapts a little bit quicker. But he is trying."
Mokwena then went on to say that he would not hang individiual players out to dry.
The Pirates caretaker mentor went on: "You will never hear me throw a player under the bus.
"We do our corrections and we are honest with each other when we analyse - and that’s where we talk, in the four walls.
"We don't hold anything back. But in public, about players, you won't get anything (negative) from me."
