Rodgers signs for Ajax Cape Town

Cape Town - National First Division club Ajax Cape Town have signed experienced striker Eleazar Rodgers on a one-year deal.

Rodgers was released at the end of last season by Free State Stars after their relegation to the second tier and has since returned to his home-town of Cape Town.

The forward has been a professional footballer since 2008/09 where he started out with Santos.

He then went on to play for Mamelodi Sundowns, Ajax, Platinum Stars and Wits as well as most recently Ea Lla Koto.

Rodgers told KickOff: "I signed for Ajax, yeah, one season.

"I was given an opportunity to join Ajax and gladly accepted it. Also, I'm back in my home town, feels good to be back.

"For the fans, may we continue to support each other as we trust God for a great season ahead with positive results.

"The expectation is to help the team as best as I can to win promotion. This goes hand in hand with scoring goals and performing well at training, as well as match days."
