Cape Town - Bidvest Wits defender Robyn Johannes says he would be open to making a return to Cape Town City though he will honour his contract with the Students if need be.
Johannes has not featured for the Clever Boys in 2019/20 though he did make 22 Premiership appearances last season for coach Gavin Hunt's men.
Nonetheless, the 32-year-old has admitted he understands City are potentially interested in his services especially after the longer term injury to Taariq Fielies.
He said: "Coach Benni's wishes and everyone else's wishes - we don't always get what we wish for. But, you know, in football I've seen funnier things happen.
"You know anything is possible in this game - I've seen it, but him and the club Cape Town City are still very close to my heart and I've got so much love and respect for the coach, and that will never change.
"What happens in the next few weeks, we don't know. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
"I don't think he has to do much persuading, you know, I have a contract with Bidvest Wits so that's the only people he needs to persuade.
"But, like I say, it's a club that I hold really close to my heart and we'll see what happens in the next few weeks - anything is possible. I guess there's still lots of time but my focus is on Bidvest at the moment."
