Cape Town - Cape Town City coach Jan Olde Riekerink said his team became like the "wild west" as they failed to find an equaliser in the 1-0 defeat to Chippa United at the Athlone Stadium on Saturday.
The Citizens had plenty of possession but lacked penetration as they failed to break down a plucky defence from the visitors.
With them failing to get past the Chilli Boys, the hosts resorted to taking shots from outside the area but with no luck.
Riekerink has now failed to get maximum points in his first four matches as City head coach since replacing Benni McCarthy but has time to work on things before they play Bidvest Wits away from home on 22 December.
The new City coach said after the game against Chippa: "It became a little bit more at the end like the wild west but there's also a way to score goals.
"I think the way we are playing is improving although we don't create chances.
"Now is the time before the next and last game of the year away to Wits in two weeks' time to train what we didn't do good.
"But not only the bad things, like I said we played well in the first 45 minutes."
