Cape Town - Former Orlando Pirates coach Eric Tinkler is reportedly set to take charge of Maritzburg United following the exit of Muhsin Ertugral in Pietermaritzburg.
Ertugral was only appointed in December but lasted just around a month as he saw his side record five defeats in a row.
The experienced Turk parted ways with the Team of Choice on Monday following the club's early exit from the Nedbank Cup at the hands of National First Division outfit Witbank Spurs.
Now reports suggest that United will bring in former Pirates, Cape Town City and SuperSport mentor Tinkler.
According to Kickoff, the 48-year-old is set to be appointed on Tuesday.
The former Bafana Bafana international was previously at Chippa United, however, he did not last long in Port Elizabeth and was eventually sacked by Chippa Mpengesi.
Maritzburg are in dire straits at the bottom of the Absa Premiership standings having collected 11 points from 18 games.
The side need to start winning quickly if they are to escape the dreaded drop to the NFD in 2018/19.
