Cape Town - Iqraam Rayners struck a brace, including a penalty, as Stellenbosch FC produced an impressive display to thump Highlands Park 4-1 in an Absa Premiership clash at the Makhulong Stadium on Saturday.
Rayners converted his spot-kick as the visitors took the lead in the ninth minute after the referee awarded a penalty after a tangle in the box.
The home side drew level in the 30th minute when Mokeke Mogaila scored past Lee Langeveldt in the Stellies goal.
The team from the Cape Winelands were not ruffled by the equaliser though and they went back in front just before halftime when Alan Robertson headed home.
The Lions of the North threw everything at their opponents after interval but failed in their quest for a second equaliser.
Instead, it was Stellies that added to their advantage when Rayners completed his brace with five minutes of the game remaining.
The visitors capped a good afternoon and put some icing on a great away performance when Nyiko Mobbie struck a fourth goal in the 87th minute to seal the win.
