Cape Town - Bloemfontein Celtic coach Lehlohonolo Seema has revealed that striker Tokelo Rantie won't be rushed back to playing before he is fully fit.
The former Orlando Pirates star was released by Mamelodi Sundowns earlier this campaign and has been training with Siwelele but is still well short of being match fit.
The 29-year-old is available to be registered by Celtic for the current season, but Seema says they will wait and see how well he trains.
"He is training with the team, we are still assessing him," Seema told Far Post.
"Of course, it's been long since he was out, so fitness-wise, we are still waiting on him and we don't want to assess him when he is not that fit.
"(The) first thing that we are working on it is that he is in good condition so that we can give him fair judgment, assessment.
"It depends on him how hard he works. It's not a problem, if it happens it will happen this year or else he needs to keep on going, then we see if it's taking longer, then we'll see... we'll give him a chance, that's all that we can say, we'll give him a chance."
He added: "If it happens that, condition-wise, he is becoming better and better and we like what we see, then it can happen this season, but if not, then he can push up until end of the season and then he does pre-season with us and then we see.
"As for quality, we don't doubt him at all."
