Cape Town - Orlando Pirates winger Thabo Rakhale has revealed that head coach Kjell Jonevret has helped develop him into a more all-round player.
Rakhale missed the first couple of months of 2017 through injury, but has been enjoying regular game-time of late and put in another outstanding performance to help the Buccaneers beat Golden Arrows 1-0 in a Nedbank Cup semi-final match in KwaMashu on Sunday.
The 27-year-old winger picked up the Man of the Match award against Abafana bes'Thende.
He was pleased to help the club remain on track for silverware this season, and also explained how Jonevret has helped add to his game.
"I'm happy, I think the guys are happy. We didn't have a good season. We owe this to ourselves and our beloved supporters," he said after the match.
"The coach has helped me in terms of defensive work, and going forward I'm using my ability and it's working for the team.
"This is the end result, I did what the coach has asked me to do. Even the teammates today, they were pushing me to work defensively and going forward."
Pirates will face SuperSport United in the Nedbank Cup final on June 24, in Durban. Before that, they face another trip to Durban, to play Arrows in their final league match of the campaign; this coming Saturday.
