PSL transfer window shuts at midnight on Friday

Cape Town - The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has confirmed that the transfer window will close on Friday, January 31 at midnight.

The domestic transfer window opened on January 2 with a host of teams taking the opportunity to strengthen their squads for the second half of the football season.

According to KickOff website, Absa Premiership title hopefuls Bidvest Wits have made three additions to their squad with the arrival of Bienvenu Eva Nga (Costa Do Sol, Mozambique), Lorenzo Gordinho (Kaizer Chiefs) and Kgaogelo Sekgota (Vitoria Setubal, Portugal).

On the other end of the log table, Stellenbosch FC, have lured Granwald Scott (Bidvest Wits), Ovidy Karuru (AmaZulu) and Nathan Sinkala (TP Mazembe, DR Congo) to the Mother City.

Kaizer Chiefs have so far brought in Anthony Akumu (ZESCO United, Zambia) while Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns have remained quiet for the month with no new signings.

This could all change in the next few hours if their respective clubs deem that they do indeed need players.

Meanwhile, relegation-threatened Polokwane City have signed a staggering five players: Kabelo Mahlasela (Kaizer Chiefs, loan), Sicelokuhle Hlatshwayo (Jomo Cosmos), Thabiso Semenya (free), Denis Chembezi (Might Wanderers, Malawi) and Khuda Muyaba (Silver Strikers, Malawi).

Cape Town City have only brought in Mduduzi Mdantsane from Baroka FC while the Limpopo club have also made a host of signings: Ethen Sampson (New Mexico United, USA), Thamsanqa Masiya (Swallows FC), Nhlanhla Mgaga (Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila), Mogau Kwinama (AmaTuks) and Ivan Mahanwahaya (Bidvest Wits).
