Cape Town - SuperSport United defender Clayton Daniels believes that the PSL title race will go down to the last day of the season.
“Well, we want to stay in the pack until the last game,” Daniels said as quoted by KickOff.
“Things are so tight that I think the title will go down to the last day, so we’ll see how it goes.
“If I look at it points-wise I think we’re about five to six points off where we wanted to be at this stage.”
United currently sit at the summit of the log standings with only three points separating them from Cape Town City, Bidvest Wits, Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns as the PSL season heats up.
Matsastansta have accumulated 35 points from 18 matches while fifth place Sundowns have 32 points with five games in hand.
United will next face Daniels’ former side Ajax Cape Town and the 32-year-old believes Stanley Menzo’s charges will rise to the occasion despite their lacklustre season.
"Ajax is a team that will always rise to the occasion," Daniels said. "This is also what makes them so unpredictable and so dangerous.”
The match is scheduled for Saturday with a 20:15 kick off.
