PSL confirms League to end May 27

Cape Town - The Premier Soccer League has confirmed fixtures for the remainder of the 2016/17 Absa Premiership and National First Division season including the two block fixtures on the last weekend of May 2017.

The last day of the 2016/17 Absa Premiership will be Saturday, May 27, 2017 while the NFD will finish a day later.

All fixtures on the last day of both the Absa Premiership and NFD will kick-off simultaneously at 15:00.

The simultaneous kick-off will also apply on the penultimate day of fixtures on May 17, 2017.

The League, however, has not yet confirmed the date for the 2017 Nedbank Cup final.

This will be announced in due course.

The released fixtures include catch-up matches for Mamelodi Sundowns and also some adjustments to accommodate South African clubs that are participating in the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederations Cup.

It is a known fact that the 2016/17 season has presented the League with a number of challenges, mainly from external factors including the 2016 Rio Olympics, the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations and the laudable achievements of Mamelodi Sundowns in both the CAF Champions League and FIFA Club World Cup.
