Preview: Wits v Baroka FC

Cape Town - Bidvest Wits will look to display their title credentials when they host relegation-threatened Baroka FC at Bidvest Stadium on Wednesday.

Gavin Hunt's side sit third in the Premiership standings and can move to the summit with victory against lowly Bakgaga.

The Clever Boys are two points behind league leaders Kaizer Chiefs, having amassed 31 points from 15 matches this season.

Wits will look to extend their five-game unbeaten run in the top flight, which has seen them score 11 times whilst conceding only three goals with notable victories against Ajax Cape Town (5-0) and Orlando Pirates (2-1) most recently.

Following the win over Pirates, courtesy of Gabadinho Mhango's brace, Hunt labelled the current table as a 'false league' and said that one would only gauge true potential once all the teams are equal on games played.

"At this stage we have a false league. We are two or three games behind," he said in post-match comments. "Sundowns are four games behind‚ so the league is false.

"You'll only be able to get a real bearing of where everyone is once we have all played the same number of games.

"At the moment Sundowns are top of the league if you do it pro rata. It makes it very awkward but well just keep on playing and worry only about what is in front of us."

Baroka have endured a dismal debut campaign in the Premiership and languish bottom of the table with 13 points from a possible 51.

Their record of 11 consecutive league games without victory is indicative of the club's misfortune, which has been worsened by the suspension of newly-appointed coach Jacob Sakala.

Both teams will have a full compliment of players to select from for the clash.

Kick off is at 19:30.
