Polokwane defeat was a test of character, says Parker

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs captain Bernard Parker believes that Amakhosi will bounce back from their recent defeat to Polokwane City when they face AmaZulu in their next Absa Premiership clash on Tuesday.

The Glamour Boys are targeting a positive result when they travel to KwaZulu Natal on Heritage Day.

Parker says the team is leaving nothing to chance as they prepare for the next Absa Premiership game.

"Looking at our last game, we played well but the result did not go our way," said Parker as quoted by Amakhosi website.

"It’s a good thing that we know why we did not get the result we wanted.

"Now as we prepare for the game against AmaZulu, we know the dos and the don’ts, what works for us and what does not work for us."

While Amakhosi might have been undone in their last game by Rise and Shine, Parker is confident that they have the ability to put that set back behind them.

"It's a good thing we had that test and the defeat to Polokwane was a test of character," Parker continued saying.

"We have shown character in two of our games where we came back from behind and won those games.

"We will go into this match with the same level of energy, aggression and spirit that we have gone into all our games.

"As well as knowing how important these three points are in keeping us at the top."

Kick-off is at 19:30.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
