Cape Town - Polokwane
City have bolstered the club's striking department by signing Malawian
forward Muhammed Sulumba after a successful trial period.
The 23-year-old had been training
with Rise and Shine since December with the hope of landing a deal, and
he has now put pen to paper on a two-and-a-half-year contract.
Previously the powerful Sulumba had been on the books of Malawi
Premier Division outfit, Big Bullets, and also had a spell at Jomo
Cosmos. The hit-man joins the likes of Rodney Ramagalela and Rendani Ndou
in the attack for the Bernard Molekwa-coached outfit.
A source confirmed the deal saying to Soccer Laduma: "He
belongs to Rise and Shine. We have made a very exciting signing to add
to our fantastic attack force. He will be announced as a Polokwane City
Atusaye Nyondo, Gabadinho Mhango, Robert Ng’ambi, Limbikani Mzava and
Robin Ngalande are other Malawians playing football in the Premiership
and the player will no doubt also hope to have an impact as well.
Sulumba will be hoping to make his debut when Polokwane face Orlando Pirates in an Absa Premiership clash at the orlando Stadium on Saturday.
Kick-off is at 20:15.
