Pitso: We must give the people something to celebrate

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane says the club owe it to their supporters to go out and win the Absa Premiership by beating Free State Stars.

Sundowns have destiny in their own hands as if they beat Stars, they will win the title regardless of how second-placed Orlando Pirates do against Polokwane City.

He told the club's official website: "Look where we are, we have to go for it.

"This will will be the biggest one for me in my football career. I would say probably the first league title that Sundowns won with me here in 2014 was an emotional one, but this on whether we win it or not, I always say it will remain the big one because we lost important players like Khama Billiat and Percy Tau and really couldn't find proper combination upfront."

Mosimane also described converting Lebo Maboe into a striker, saying: "He is a No.8 and I played him upfront. You can see he was really struggling, but he was trying his best. I think we could have wrapped it up earlier even with this team in construction. We have never played fully in the league because we were managing legs the whole time because of our schedule.

"If we win it again I will be really happy for the boys and the supporters who have been singing all season long. I told the players to go out there and try their best to win the league. It was an emotional season and we must give the people something to celebrate."

All of Saturday's kickoffs are from 15:00.
