Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane says he does not know if Orlando Pirates have more than a three point advantage over his side in the Absa Premiership.
Sundowns are facing the possibility of a points deduction after fielding the ineligible Wayne Arendse in a league match last year.
The defender was added to the team-sheet after it had already been submitted following a pre-match injury to Thapelo Morena. This contravenes National Soccer League regulations.
The Brazilians won 2-1 against Baroka last Saturday which officially puts them three behind the Sea Robbers. Yet, it could be more should the PSL decide to deduct more for the Arendse offence.
Mosimane told reporters after the Bakgaga game: "I don't know how many points adrift from the log leaders but I know we got three points [against Baroka] today (Saturday).
'Jingles' then explained how his side got the victory on the day: "To be honest I never thought the game will come out the way it came out, because these guys are a difficult team to break down. We always struggle and everybody has struggled against them.
"But until we found our rhythm, the good thing is we found it very early, they struggled with [Tiyani] Mabunda and [Hlompho] Kekana to close down and once they closed them down we went to [Sibusiso] Vilakazi and Themba Zwane much easier in the pockets.
"They just couldn't deal with the way we play and it gave us confidence on the ball so we gained momentum and kept passing and passing, and the goal came. They got an equaliser but we missed a lot of chances."
Downs could join Bucs on top of the table on 50 points if they beat Chippa United in Tuesday's clash at Loftus Stadium.
Kick-off is at 15:00.
