Pitso: Sundowns fringe players good enough to win PSL

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Pitso Mosimane believes the fringe players in his squad are good enough to win the Absa Premiership title.

The defending champions have assembled a formidable group of players with proven internationals on the bench or sometimes not in the matchday squad.

Mosimane has every department covered with two or three players in each position.

This season alone players such as Kennedy Mweene, Ricardo Nascimento, Oupa Manyisa, Mauricio Affonso and Anthony Laffor have not been featuring regularly for the Brazilians.

"The team which is not here is good enough to win the league," Mosimane told SABC.

"If you put Lyle (Lakay), Bangaly (Soumahoro), (Motjeka) Madisha, Thapelo (Morena), AJ (Andile Jali), (Siphelele) Mkhulise, Riva (Coetzee) and Phaka (Mahlambi) in a team. They are all available."

Sundowns' next game after the international break will be a CAF Champions League encounter away to Cote D'Or in Seychelles on 13 September and Mosimane revealed he will field most of the players that have not been getting much game time.

Masandawana have the second leg of the MTN semifinal against Supersport United, which is currently locked at 1-1, just five days after the continental fixture.

Mosimane continued: "We will probably change the team in Seychelles and everybody must get an opportunity to play, and show us they can win in Seychelles.

"If it backfires we will sort it out here. Everyone should raise their hands and play. We also have MTN8.

"It (MTN8) has its own different rules and mentality. So, far we are doing well."
