Cape Town - Pitso Mosimane has confirmed that highly rated winger Siyabulela Shai will be given a chance to impress in the Mamelodi Sundowns first-team
The son of former Bafana Bastyle legend Isaac, who is comfortable on either flank, graduated from the Sundowns academy before enjoying a loan spell at Chippa United last season.
The next move in order to further his experience in the top flight wasn't that successful at Maritzburg United, and the 22-year old recently returned to Chloorkop.
However, Mosimane admits he still has faith in Shai and included him in the 18-man squad that faced Golden Arrows on Saturday.
"I had him on the bench; I wanted to play him," the 'Downs coach said following the goalless draw with Golden Arrows.
"But I said it's a very difficult game, a win at all costs, so I opted for 'Cheeseboy' Mokoena for his experience.
"I thought maybe if I give him a chance and [he could] break down, so I protected the boy. But you saw he was warming up, I wanted to play him, he has got the quality."
Despite not making his debut for Sundowns, Shai has managed to appear 19 times in the Premiership, scoring once and registering two assists for Chippa United and Maritzburg United respectively.
