Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has outlined his plans for Promise Mkhuma after tying down the teenage midfielder to a five-year senior contract.
Mkhuma penned his first senior professional contract after impressing for Sundowns' MDC side and follows in the footsteps of Percy Tau, Siphelele Mkhulise, Keletso Makgalwa and Motjeka Madisha who all graduated from the MDC side to establish themselves as first-team regulars.
The 19-year-old, who has been captain of the MDC side this season, has now put an end to speculation linking him with a move to Maritzburg United by putting pen to paper on a five-year professional contract at the Brazilians.
And Mosimane is of the belief that the only way to get his talented teen acclimatised to the top-flight is by throwing him in to the deep end and seeing how he fares.
"Promise has done very well. He has proved that he deserves my attention," the Masandawana mentor told KickOff.
"He has really shown that I must look at him. The free-kicks have been good and he has been supplying the balls.
"Let's put him in. Let's stress him and see how he handles this. It's a little difficult, you know the story.
"You park him a little bit somewhere like Pitso [Mkhulisi], like we did with [Motjeka] Madisha, like we did with Percy Tau, and we can bring him [into the senior squad] a little bit later.
"Let's see first what Promise can do."
