Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane says his side will try to achieve a points total to win the league even if the Premier Soccer League (PSL) docks the club points.

Sundowns face the prospect of losing points for fielding the ineligible Wayne Arendse in their league clash with Bidvest Wits in October last year.

The centre-back was fielded despite not being in the original match-day squad which breaches PSL regulations.

The matter was brought forward by the PSL Disciplinary Committee on 6 February no verdict has been announced yet.

With the club facing a possible docking of points, Mosimane insists his team will try to achieve a total that caters for any subtraction.

He said as quoted by KickOff website: "It's difficult because you never know what's happening. Remember there is still a Wayne Arendse case that is still hanging, I don't know why when it is coming.

"It's unbelievable, it's taking too long. So, we are also careful about those issues. We drew with Wits at that time, so Lux [PSL communications manager] will tell you if he will take a point from us or if he will give Wits three, for a match they did not win. I don't know, because it's interesting for us," the former Bafana Bafana coach said.

"When the case of Ajax [Cape Town] went on last season, I told the guys that we must have four points more, so that whenever three points is docked, we have one more.

"So, we are careful, we know this thing. Probably it will come two matches before the season finishes. So, it's where we are, it's reality and we are experienced in this game.

"We know these things, so we have to be careful of how we do this thing. I am budgeting three points that might be taken, so at least I will have one more.

"This game against Pirates was a blessing in disguise to be moved, because if you had it at the back [April 27] where it was, it could have been difficult for us."
