Pitso labels Katsande a bully who kicks everybody

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane believes that Kaizer Chiefs destroyer Willard Katsande is a bully who kicks opponents to gain an advantage.

Mosimane was speaking after his side's 0-0 draw with Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday night during which time Katsande was seen to be handing out a number of rough tackles on Brazilians players.

In addition, the 53-year-old takes the view that defender Teenage Hadebe deserved to be given his marching orders on the night.

He told reporters: "(Teenage) Hadebe was very lucky. He should have got a second yellow, you know - and we knew Katsande would come and kick, but we said we must kick him back because he bullies everybody.

"I instructed (Tiyani)Mabunda: 'If he kicks you, kick him back. If he gets away with it, you will get away with it.'"

He added that it was Amakhosi goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune was the only reason his team didn't collect all three points, saying: "We just kept it clean and simple.

"We were a bit cautious though, but Denis (Onyango) didn't have much to do to save everything. 'Itu' showed once again he is the top keeper and number one in South Africa.

"I never thought he would stop Brockie's shot but he was well aware and did very well. We were a little bit unfortunate hitting the post twice. We didn't allow them to play their transition game as always.

"So we let Cardoso and Hadebe have the ball and try and force Hadebe into a second yellow card, which he was very, very lucky not to get."

Sundowns next face second place Cape Town City in a top-of-the-table clash at Athlone Stadium on Friday with Benni McCarthy's men hoping to narrow the gap to Masandawana to one point.

Kick-off is at 20:00.
