Pitso keen to meet want-away Lebo Manyama

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane is reportedly interested in getting in touch with Turkey-based Bafana Bafana midfielder Lebogang Manyama.

The 27-year-old was the top goal scorer in the Absa Premiership last season after netting 13 league goals for Cape Town City, also captaining the side to glory in the Telkom Knockout.

He was also named as the 2016/ 17 PSL Player of the Season, and became a regular in the national team.

A move to club Konyaspor gave Manyama the chance to pursue his career in Europe. But he's struggled for game-time in Turkey's top flight and has only featured in seven (six of those off the bench) of 30 league matches, with his club above the relegation zone only on goal difference.

Mosimane has meanwhile been known to be a keen admirer of Manyama and although the Brazilians mentor has not commented personally on the matter, a source quoted by the Citizen publication claims the former Ajax Cape Town and Black Aces winger is a player who the Sundowns coach would potentially be interested in bringing to Pretoria.

"He wants to talk to him face-to-face first and find out if he is still the kind of player he can work with. Pitso wants to recruit only players he has some kind of chemistry with because he doesn't want unhappy players in his team," said the source.
