Pitso hoping to have star duo back after international break

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Pitso Mosimane is hoping his star midfield duo of Themba Zwane and Gaston Sirino will return from injury after the international break.

Zwane and Sirino were sorely missed as Masandwana slipped to a 3-2 defeat against Golden Arrows in an Absa Premiership clash played at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium last weekend.

It was a double blow for Zwane as he also had to pull out of the Bafana Bafana squad for the African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Ghana and Sudan.

Mosimane's charges face Arrows again in the Telkom Knockout semifinals on 23 November and is confident his team will be better.

The Sundowns mentor said: "We need to keep our players ready for the programme that's coming - obviously the Fifa break will give us some time to get Themba Zwane back and Gaston Sirino back, hopefully.

"When we come back here next time we will be at full force.

"We controlled the match and we believed that the players we fielded can do the job."

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
