Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns manager Pitso Mosimane has hailed his team's quality after they defeated ZESCO United on Saturday to reach the CAF Champions League final.
The Brazilians were trailing the Zambian side 2-1 from the first-leg, but Anthony Laffor levelled the aggregate score after five minutes at Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium, before Percy Tau added a second in the 64th minute.
"We came from nowhere and on holiday to the Cup final, we deserve it," Mosimane told SuperSport after the 3-2 aggregate win.
"It's very difficult for a team to beat Sundowns home and away, over two games, you have to be a super team to beat us two games in succession. Home and away it's not easy, over 120 minutes you need to be very good."
The PSL side only found themselves in the competition after AS Vita Club's disqualification, but Mosimane is adamant that they merit their place in the final against Zamalek of Egypt.
"The boys did very well," Mosimane added.
"Feet on the ground, one step at a time. Percy Tau I'm happy he scored the goal. I've been needing this goal.
"But what I'm more happy about is that we kept consistency with the results at home and there's two goals and we kept a clean sheet.
"I know somebody said we went through the back door, but I don't know how we qualified for the final … is this still the back door?"
