Pitso explains why he chose Seabi over Jali for Celtic clash

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane says Andile Jali was left out of Wednesday's Premiership victory over Bloemfontein Celtic due to tactical reasons.

Jali was a surprise omission from the team that beat Celtic 2-1 as Sammy Seabi came in to replace him.

The former Orlando Pirates man put on a star display on the weekend in the 4-0 CAF Champions League win over Otoho d'Oyo.

However, he was benched by Seabi as Mosimane explained it was to re-enforce the midfield.

He told reporters: "For us not to play Andile tonight, you ask yourself why because he did well, but he understands that we need Seabi tactically and Seabi is not registered for CAF.

"(Hlompho) Kekana was unbelievable, him and Seabi. And this is why we buy Seabi, to keep the midfield intact, to cut all these small balls, to make sure the balls are not going through.

"Anele is a professional, he is unbelievable. He stabilises us. He does not do too much, and you don't see him much, but he is experienced. The way he covers (Motjeka) Madisha is unbelievable."
