Cape Town - Mamelodi
Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane was delighted to see Percy Tau put his
ability to maximum use with a brace on Monday night.
Bafana Bafana attacker Tau was Sundowns' match winner as the Brazilians ran out 2-1 victors over Free State Stars in a league match at Goble Park.
Mosimane was pleased to see Tau making the most of his chances, netting with a free-kick as well as a superb individual goal that saw him running from the half way line before smashing in a 30-yard shot.
"I'm happy for Percy because once he shoots, he scores and this is what we want from him - stop dribbling, too much dribbling, you have got to shoot, and he shot.
"And the free-kick, he's practicing that. I'm so happy because he's been doing it all the time, so practice makes perfect," he said.
Mosimane was, however, disappointed that his team conceded a late goal - Nhlanhla Vilakazi netted in the 94th minute.
"Disappointed with the goal because it's the last five seconds of the game, because it spoils the whole thing. We needed a clean sheet," he said.
Meanwhile Masandawana confirmed that key stars Khama Billiat and Kennedy Mweene were among eight players unavailable for selection with injury for the Brazilians.
The club's official website said, “Khama Billiat, Yannick Zakri and
Tiyani Mabunda lead the list of infield players who are sidelined by
injuries. The goalkeeping department is also affected as Kennedy Mweene
will be missing.
