Pitso describes Wits as a team that 'are on fire'

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane believes there are many similarities between themselves and their MTN8 final opponents, Bidvest Wits.

Sundowns have been in scintillating form after marching to both the MTN8 and CAF Champions League final.

The Brazilians will face the university outfit at the Mbombela Stadium on Saturday, before taking on Zamalek in the CAF final first-leg at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on 15 October.

"I think they are looking for their first trophy. The game will be on the pitch against a very strong team (Wits)," Mosimane told KickOff.

"They have started very well, they are on fire, I think they are the team on form now and not only by playing but also scoring. But a final is a final.

"You got to have the cold nerves for the final and be able to play. You also need to have the experience for that and I think we have the experience on that while they have a good team.

"We really respect them because they have a good team. They have brought in players, they are like us and have been bringing in eight, nine every year.

"They are behaving like us, I mean Chiefs, Pirates, Wits, SuperSport United and us, we are the same because we bring six, eight, some people brought eleven this year. So it happens."

Kick-off is at 17:00.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
