Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Lucky Mohomi has revealed that coach Pitso Mosimane convinced him to stay at the Brazilians and work on his game.
Mohomi admitted that he was seeking a move away from the Tshwane club in the last transfer window due to a lack of opportunities in the Sundowns first team.
The 28-year-old was linked with a move to Tshwane rivals SuperSport United but has disclosed that Mosimane told him he will eventually get game time at his current club.
Mohomi told reporters: "It is frustrating to sit out and not play.
"Even though it is frustrating sitting outside is more of a learning curve and for growth.
"I believe that now I am ready, and my time is coming for me to showcase my talent.
"I requested for a loan last season but the coach (Mosimane) told me I need to work more hence no move materialised, but now my mind is okay."
Mohomi, who joined Sundowns from Free State Stars in 2016, could be in line for a rare appearance when Masandawana play the second leg of their CAF Champions League fixture against Cote d'Or of the Seychelles on Friday.
Sundowns should progress from the tie as they beat their opponents 5-0 in the first leg away from home.
The second leg takes place on Friday at the Lucas Moripe Stadium at 19:00.
