Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane believes central defender Motjeka Madisha deserves a Bafana Bafana call-up based on his recent performances.
A lengthy injury layoff for Ricardo Nascimento earlier in the season gave Madisha a sniff and he took his chance with both hands.
So well did he fill the void left by Nascimento that the 25-year-old has now displaced Wayne Arends from the starting lineup.
And his mentor believes, based on recent form, that Madisha could challenge the likes of Bidvest Wits defender Buhle Mkhwanazi and even skipper Thulani Hlatshwayo for a place in the national team.
“Madisha is developing‚ he is learning‚ he is keeping players like Wayne Arendse out of the starting line-up‚ which is good and he is also young," 'Jingles' told Herald Live.
He offers a good challenge for Buhle and ‘Tyson’ [Hlathswayo] and the rest of them in the national team.”
Madisha will be hoping to force his way in to Bafana coach Molefi Ntseki's plans for their next assignment - back-to-back Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against São Tomé and Príncipe in March.
