Pitso aware of mistakes against CT City

Cape Town - Despite Mamelodi Sundowns fixture congestion, Pitso Mosimane believes that his side committed a lot of mistakes against Cape Town City.

Lebogang Manyama bagged a brace against the newly crowned CAF Champions League winners after cancelling out Thabo Nthethe's equaliser.

City claimed maximum points with a 2-1 victory.

According to KickOff, Mosimane believes that his charges did not implement his game plan correctly.

"Today there was nothing that came out right... Even our combination play was not right; the balls dropping in the middle - the ones picking it up were not us," he said.

"The passing [was] not too good, you know, you could see you need a little bit more than a two-day break, and see what we do is not easy."

"There was no penetration [from us]; nobody was interested in running behind, but I understand and I know [why].

"They [fixtures] are coming thick and fast so we are playing well rested teams all the time. But I don't want to take it away from [Cape Town City].

"They deserve to win because they were fresher, they wanted it more than us and they played on the break of course - that was the only way they could score - and they used their opportunities right."

Sundowns continue to play catch up in the Premiership with a midweek fixture against Polokwane City on Wednesday.

Kick-off is at 19:30.
