Pirates take full-strength squad to Namibia

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates have revealed that they will take a full-strength squad to compete in the pre-season tournament known as the Dr. Hage Geingob Cup.

The tournament offers coach Muhsin Ertugral an opportunity to try out various combinations within the new-look Buccaneers squad, and following the recent loss to Kaizer Chiefs in the Carling Black Label Champion Cup, the Turkish coach will look to secure silverware in the four-team tournament.

The Mayfair-based outfit are scheduled to play 2015/16 Absa Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns in a semi-final encounter on Saturday, 6 August at the Independence Stadium, with the other semi-final being contested between two local teams, Tigers FC and African Stars at 14:00.

Ertugral's charges recently played against National Fist Division outfit Royal Eagles in a pre-season friendly, securing a 3-1 victory courtesy of goals by Luvuyo Memela and a second half brace from Tendai Ndoro.

The final of the Dr Hage Geingob Cup will be played on Sunday at 16:00 after a curtain-raiser, contested by two local sides at 12:00, followed by third and fourth play-off at 14:00.
