Cape Town - Orlando Pirates interim coach Rulani Mokwena says the Buccaneers are still a work in progress as they look to integrate new players into the team.
The Soweto giants are preparing for an Absa Premiership encounter against Cape Town City that takes place at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday.
Pirates are coming off a narrow 4-3 defeat to Bidvest Wits but Mokwena was happy with the character and effort his team gave against the Clever Boys.
Last season's Absa Premiership runners-up have not had the best of starts to the current campaign having collected eight points from there first six games so far.
Mokwena told reporters: "I think if we play (in the same manner as against Wits), nine times out of 10, with the same standard of performance we would probably win the match.
"But it's a work in progress, we're integrating a lot of new players and we have changed structures slightly from what we played in the last two seasons."
The Pirates caretaker coach says they will fight tooth and nail in the remaining 24 league matches.
Mokwena continued: "So, we just keep working and trying to make sure.
"There are 72 points left to play for, so we will continue to fight and make sure we gather as many points as possible."
Kick-off is at 15:00.
