Pirates part ways with Mugerwa

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates have officially cut ties with Ugandan attacking midfielder Yasser Mugerwa ahead of the 2016/17 Premiership campaign.

The 22-year-old joined the Mayfair based outfit in August 2015 on a three-year-deal, but subsequently failed to cement his spot in the first-team, which led to the former Uganda Revenue Authority man being placed on the transfer-list in July alongside Lehlohonolo Majoro, Sifiso Myeni and Roger Majafa.

"Yes, we did receive the clearance from Pirates today (Monday). He is now free to join any team," Mugerwa's agent Dennis Idrissa told KickOff.

"It was a matter of the foreign space at Pirates. He remains grateful for the opportunity of playing for one of the biggest teams on the continent."

Mugerwa made a total of eight first-team appearances in all competitions for the Soweto giants in his one-year stint at the club.
