Pirates on high alert as Hlatshwayo wants new challenge

Cape Town - Bidvest Wits captain Thulani Hlatshwayo says he wants a new challenge amid speculation that a move to Orlando Pirates is on the cards.

Hlatshwayo is currently regarded as South Africa's premier central defender after his commanding performances for the Clever Boys and Bafana Bafana at the back.

With the transfer window slamming shut at the end of August, it appears he could still make a switch to the Sea Robbers.

The player said he is happy at Wits but admitted he is keen on a new challenge in the near future.

He said: "I'm comfortable at Wits, but the window is not closed yet to anything can still happen.

"Not at all. I'm still contracted to Bidvest Wits and everything lies with the management.

"Obviously, I did make it clear that I want a new challenge. And, like I said, the window is still open so anything can still happen.

In his five seasons with Wits. 'Tyson' has won the Premiership, an MTN8 cup as well as the Telkom Knockout crown as well.
