Pirates nominated for prestigious CAF award

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates have been nominated in the Club of the Year category at the upcoming CAF Awards to be held on 7 January 2016 in Abuja, Nigeria.

This follows their impressive run during the Confederations Cup, which culminated in a loss in final of the competition to Tunisian club, Etoile du Sahel who themselves are up for the same award.

Two other African clubs are also in contention. They are TP Mazembe of DR Congo and USM Algers of Algeria.

Kaizer Chiefs were the last South African team to win this prestigious award in 2001.
