Cape Town - Orlando Pirates central defender Ayanda
Gcaba will spend the remainder of the season on loan at Platinum Stars.
The 31-year-old Bafana Bafana-capped Gcaba
is yet to feature for the Buccaneers this season and the club have decided to
give him the chance to get some game-time under his belt by joining struggling
Stars, who currently prop up the league standings.
"Orlando Pirates Football Club has
reached an agreement with Platinum Stars over the services of defender Ayanda
Gcaba. The defender moves to Dikwena on loan for the remainder of the season.
"Gcaba has been at the club since 2012
having signed from Free State Stars. The 31-year old had been a regular starter
in the Buccaneers setup until recently where he has had little game-time this
season under Micho Sredojevic.
"The move to Platinum Stars will see
the hard-tackling defender joining former Bucs coach Roger De Sa," read a
statement on the Pirates website.
The Soweto giants have also completed a
signing this week after snapping up midfielder Xola Mlambo from Bidvest Wits on
Monday.
Platinum Stars are next in action when they
face Chippa United in Port Elizabeth on Sunday, while Pirates head to the
Mother city to tackle Ajax Cape Town on Wednesday.
