Cape Town - Much to the delight of the Orlando Pirates faithful, the Parktown club ended a three match winless streak when they defeated Ajax Cape Town 2-1 in their ABSA Premiership encounter at the Orlando Stadium.
However the hard fought victory came at a price with the Buccaneers having to endure two forced substitutions in the form of Thabo Qalinge and Rooi Mahamutsa respectively.
According to the medical team via the club's website, Qalinge suffered a contusion of his quadriceps muscle on the side of his right leg. He underwent a diagnostic ultra sound which revealed a bruising of his muscle. He is to be referred to a specialist.
Mahamutsa complained that his hamstring is in pain on his left leg at half-time and upon the doctor’s assessment it was decided that he should be taken off as a precaution.
He was referred to an ultra sound specialist for diagnosis and the test revealed that he was suffering from Semi-Tendinosis, however there is no tear of the muscle however there is just a bit of bleeding due to the strain.
