Pirates injury update

Cape Town - Happy Jele is doubtful for the opening game of the new year when Orlando Pirates play host to Platinum Stars on Saturday, January 9.

Jele, who suffered a thigh strain in the Sea Robbers loss to Mamelodi Sundowns in December last year will undergo a late fitness test to determine the full extent of his injury.

“Happy, suffered a grade 3 tear in the game against Mamelodi Sundowns late last year," the club's medical team said on Orlando Pirates website.

"He has been working with the medical team on a rehabilitation programme since returning from the festive break.

"He is due to undergo a fitness test later in the week to determine his availability for the match against Platinum Stars."

Rest of the Players:

- Oupa Manyisa (fractured fibula) - Still undergoing strength and conditioning with the medical team.

- Lesie Koapeng (groin) - Grade 3 strain; expected out for about two weeks.

- Menzi Masuku (foot) - Undergoing ultrasound and strength training.
