Cape Town - Orlando Pirates have reportedly had an offer of over R1 million for Asante Kotoko striker Yacouba Songne turned down.
The Burkinabe star is available for transfer according to reports though it seems Pirates' $100 000 offer (around R1.4 million) did not meet Kotoko's expectations.
The Sea Robbers are preparing for a season in which they intend to battle on all fronts which includes another CAF Champions League campaign.
In 2018/19 Bucs crashed out in the group stages, finished second in the Premiership and lost the Telkom Knockout final to Baroka meaning much is expected in 2019/20.
According to KickOff, a deal could still go through should Pirates offer up to R2 million for his services.
If they do secure his signature, it could mean more ammunition in the striking department for the African campaign as he bagged two goals and five assists in CAF Confederations Cup action for the Porcupine Warriors.
