Cape Town - Orlando Pirates media officer Thandi Merafe has revealed that goalkeeper Wayne Sandilands is available for selection for Saturday's Absa Premiership clash with Bidvest Wits.
The Sea Robbers are set to face the Students in what could potentially be a title-decider in terms of the outcome of the league race.
Bucs and Wits are three points behind leaders Mamelodi Sundowns however the Brazilians could face a points deduction for fielding the ineligible Wayne Arendse in a match last year.
Nonetheless, Sandilands has been number one in recent matches although he was forced off in the recent 0-0 draw against Sundowns in the league.
Speaking to Soccer Laduma, Merafe said: "What happened there is that he had a gash to his upper lip, which was treated.
"But when that happened he lost blood and that led to him feeling light-headed and that's why he couldn't finish the match.
"It wouldn't have been professional for him to continue playing when he wasn't sure about his health.
"Regarding Wayne, he is not injured per se, because it was only that cut and he had a couple of days for it to heal. So, he's not injured, it was just a cut."
Saturday's clash between the two sides is set to take place at Bidvest Stadium in Johannesburg.
Kick-off is 15:00.
