Pirates fans to get refund after PSL sanction

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates have announced that fans that have purchased tickets for their upcoming match against Wits will be able to get a refund.

The Absa Premiership match between is scheduled for Wednesday, April 25 which will now be played behind closed doors in terms of a sanction handed down by the Premier Soccer League (PSL) Disciplinary Committee.

"The Disciplinary Committee has sanctioned Orlando Pirates by ordering that the club must play two home matches in a closed stadium. The implementation of one of these matches has been suspended for a period 24 months," read the statement released by the PSL.

Disgruntled Buccaneers fans invaded the field and stopped play as Sundowns thrashed the the Soweto giants 6-0 at Loftus Versfeld last year February.

Fans who have already bought tickets for next weeks match will be advised in the near future as to how to get a refund.
