Pirates captain calls for mental strength against Sundowns

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates skipper Happy Jele believes his fellow players must be psychologically strong ahead of Monday's Absa Premiership clash against Mamelodi Sundowns.

The Sea Robbers take on the Brazilians in a match which could have major implications in terms of the outcome of the PSL title race.

Currently, Downs lead the league on 43 points ahead of Bidvest Wits in second on 41 points, whereas, Bucs are on 40 points.

Jele told Isolezwe: "I think it's very important for us as players to fight harder in the game against Sundowns.

"I am happy with the fact that we don't have too many players that are injured. We played a friendly game and that has helped our teammates to get game time and get ready.

"It's very important to take this game seriously and fight to get the three points because we are at home.

"It's very important for us to be mentally strong and not allow any factors to destabilise us.

"We have seven games remaining until the end of the season and we must not be under pressure on the field of play, but approach the game against Sundowns like any other game."

Kick-off is at 19:30.
