Cape Town - SuperSport United goalkeeper Reyaad Pieterse is anticipating a tough match when his side take on Baroka in the final round of Absa Premiership games next week.
The battle to avoid the relegation play-offs will go to the wire in the final weekend of the 2017/18 season with both teams in need of points to get out of trouble.
Matsatsantsa are in 14th position in the Premiership table and cannot afford to drop points as they have second from bottom, Ajax Cape Town breathing down their necks.
Baroka, in the same way need at least a point from their final match of the campaign to be guaranteed top-flight football for another season.
Bakgaga recently made changes to their technical team with legendary Doctor Khumalo taking over the reins as the head coach in the battle to avoid the play-offs.
The former Bafana Bafana midfielder secured a 2-2 draw against Bloemfontein Celtic in his first match in charge of the club.
“It’s extremely important for us to win that final match against Baroka,” Pieterse exclusively told Vodacom Soccer.
“We do not want to rely on other results. We know what we need to and the match is going to be like a final for both teams.
“There will be a lot to play for.”
The goalkeeper also said he was grateful to have made the Bafana Bafana provisional squad for the COSAFA Cup announced on Thursday.
Pieterse added: "It’s very motivating knowing that my hard work is not going unnoticed. I’m excited with the call-up."
