Pienaar to snub PSL for China move?

Cape Town - Former Bafana Bafana midfielder Steven Pienaar admits that no club’s in the Absa Premiership have made contact with his representatives over a possible return.

The 34-year-olds contract expired at English Premier League club Everton and is currently a free agent.

Sport24 reported that Pienaar has been linked with a possible move to Mamelodi Sundowns but the midfielder has now refuted the claims and is adamant on just focusing on enjoying his holiday.

“No, no-one has made contact with me yet,” Pienaar is quoted by KickOff.

“As mentioned before, I want to enjoy my break the best way possible and I will let my manager handle all that stuff.”

However, Pienaar is keeping his options open and might just take a deal in Asia instead.

“Clubs there are investing a lot to put Chinese football on the world football map, which is great,” he adds.

“There was contact made in February but let’s wait and see what will happen in the near future.”
