Absa Premiership outfit Cape Town City have taken the necessary steps to prepare for when the players return to training on Tuesday, 2 June.

Minister of Sport Nathi Mthethwa revealed on Saturday, 30 May that contact sport can resume training under Level 3 of the national lockdown, starting Monday, 1 June.

However, professional games will not take place as sporting bodies and government continue discussions for when domestic matches can resume.

"All sporting codes will be expected back at training," Mthethwa said.

"Our athletes have not been in training and we do not want to have them out of shape forever. The process of training will ensue for both contact and non-contact sport."

In the meantime, the Citizens are already making sure that their players will be comfortable for when training resumes.

The club's training complex at Hartleyvale Stadium has undergone full santisation, the club revealed on their official Twitter account.

The post read: "Times change, but we keep up! City’s training complex has undergone full sanitisation for the players’ return to Hartleyvale tomorrow!"
