PICS | Micho confirmed as Zamalek head coach

Cape Town - Recently-resigned Orlando Pirates tactician Milutin Sredojevic was on Monday confirmed as the head coach of Egyptian giants Zamalek despite claiming his exit from the Buccaneers was due to a family bereavement.

Images showed Sredojevic landing in Cairo on Sunday, despite the Serbian claiming he was headed to his homeland to tend to his mother who is suffering from a life-threatening illness.

Sredojevic sensationally resigned as Orlando Pirates head coach late on Friday with Zamalek chairperson Mortada Mansour confirming that the Serbian will be club's new coach.

Despite Sredojevic initially denying these reports, the club confirmed on national TV on Monday morning that he had been appointed as the new Zamalek head coach.

Sredojevic was quoted as saying: "Now I can say that my dream has come true to coach Zamalek. When the chairperson says he likes to win you know you're in the right place."

The Sunday World reported that Sredojevic was shockingly being accused of sexual misconduct with a hotel cleaner opening up a case of indecent exposure against him.

But Sredojevic has firmly denied the allegations and believes it is a plot to cast aspersions on his character.
