Cape Town - Orlando Pirates left-back Patrick Phungwayo does not expect Maritzburg United to roll over for his team in the Premiership on Tuesday.
The Buccaneers come into this clash on the back of two consecutive draws against Baroka FC and Highlands Park, while the Team of Choice will be looking to build on their victory over Bakgaga last time out.
The two clubs are separated by four places and four points in the league standings, with Pirates lying fifth and hoping to close the gap to Cape Town City at the summit.
However, Phungwayo believes the managerless KZN outfit will be targeting an upset at the Harry Gwala Stadium with an eye on breaking into the top-eight before the new year.
"Our last two matches against Baroka and Highlands are the ones we should have won, but that's water under the bridge now," the 28-year-old defender told Vodacom Soccer.
"Our focus now is to take on Maritzburg and fight for vital points, though they won't be pushovers as they will be more determined to cause an upset especially on their home ground.
"It's important for us going to festive break with a strong finish and on the respectable position on the log, because it will be tough when PSL resumes in February, where every team will be fighting for vital points."
Kick off is scheduled for 19:30.
