Baroka FC captain Gerald Phiri admits he won't be risking exposure to the coronavirus at a public gym but says team training carries on.

The Absa Premiership season is currently paused as the PSL aims to limit the spread of the coronavirus, and Phiri has revealed that he too is playing it safe.

"At the club we have a gym that is open to the community and I also have a membership with Virgin Active," he told SowetanLive.

"For now I will not be going to gym.

"I think it's best to stay on the side of precaution and avoid anything unnecessary. Like everyone has been saying, we should avoid public spaces as much as possible."

However, the Baroka skipper also stated that since Limpopo has not been as affected as other provinces, team training will resume.

"Here in Limpopo there have not been many reported cases of the virus so we have continued with our training programme," Phiri added.

"We are waiting to hear from management in the coming days about what we will be doing going forward."
