Cape Town - Former Orlando Pirates striker Helder Pelembe says he was unaware about the reasons the Golden Arrows management opted against signing him.
The Mozambican parted ways with the Buccaneers after struggling to secure a regular place in the first team.
Media reports have suggested that the 28 year-old failed to impress the technical team after spending weeks in training with the Durban-based outfit. However, the player insists those reports are wide of the mark.
"It's not about that because coach Larsen knew me from Celtic, so I had nothing to prove to him because he knew me enough," Pelembe told KickOff website.
"They told me there was no agreement between them and Pirates, but now I'm free. But I prefer somewhere I can enjoy my soccer without problems. My agent is busy with that."
