Paulse shocked with duo exit to Pirates

Cape Town - Veteran striker Nathan Paulse has said the departure of Abbubaker Mobara and Riyaad Norodien came as a surprise to many of Ajax Cape Town players.

Last week Orlando Pirates confirmed that former the Ajax Cape Town defender and midfielder have signed deals to join the Sowetan side ahead of the new season.

In an interview with News24Live, Paulse admits that with the history of the Urban Warriors it is sort of expected when big clubs start poaching their upcoming stars.

"Ajax is famed for their youth academy so when news broke of these two players being sold it caught some of us by surprise," said the 34-year-old.

"But if you think of Ajax and its history it’s kind of expected.

"It’s a big move for both of these players, they are still young and hopefully they can acquit themselves well.

"Obviously it’s a lot more pressure on them now... they have joined one of the biggest teams in SA."
